We understand times are tough. You deserve a night out, with your spouse or friends, regardless of your financial situation. If funds are tight, come as our guest for free as often as you like. Our only request is that you continue to support our show when your situation improves. "

Improvisational comedy comes to Harrisburg
“Don’t Break the Streak,” Harrisburg’s new improv comedy group, will be performing at 6 p.m. every Sunday at the Harrisburg Comedy Zone.
The group’s first performance is Nov. 1, and they will perform every Sunday after that.
Improv is an adventurous form of comedy, said Don’t Break the Streak producer Keith Hanshaw. Every show is different because the performers make it up as they go. Much of the performance is based on audience suggestions. Those familiar with the show “Who’s Line is it Anyway?” have an idea of what to expect.
Improv comedy has its roots in Second City in Chicago and Toronto, and remains a popular form of comedy with groups such as The Upright Citizens’ Brigade in New York. Such performers as Bill Murray, Chris Farley and Amy Poehler have their comedic roots in improv.
Don’t Break the Streak’s Sunday performances bring four big nights of live comedy to the area. The Harrisburg Comedy Zone hosts stand-up comedy shows with nationally-touring comedians every Friday and Saturday, 8 and 10:30 p.m. And on Thursday nights, the Comedy Zone holds an open-mike night for local, up-and-coming comedians.
The cover charge for the improve show is $10. For more information, visit www.dontbreakthestreak.com and www.harrisburgcomedyzone.com.
Contact producer Keith Hanshaw at 545-5363, or keith@dontbreakthestreak.com for interviews and additional information. The cast rehearses each Sunday, 2 to 5 p.m., at the Harrisburg Comedy Zone, 110 Limekiln Rd., New Cumberland, and would be available for interviews and photos.
